Over the coming months, the three Films starring Arabia’s Desert, Coastlands and Mountains, will be produced as an Oman in Focus co-production with award winning director Mike Slee and Untamed Limited. These beautifully filmed productions will re-discover historic expeditions, explore contemporary adventures and showcase wildlife and conservation efforts undertaken to preserve them. This ambitious project tells stories from the Sultanate of Oman, Kingdom of Saudi Arabia and the United Arab Emirates.
Turtle Journey
As documentary filmmakers, our adventures around the world have introduced us to breathtaking sights, yet a few things touches our hearts quite like observing a hatchling turtle’s first journey to the ocean. This small victory is a powerful reminder of the beauty and resilience of nature. Every step matters!

Al Wahiba Sands
Ash Sharqiya is a modern explorer’s heaven. Many locals and tourists visit the area to conquer the dunes in 4×4’s and enjoy the vast open spaces with their spectacular night skies.
The major dunes run north-south, and are an impressive geological feature in their own right, telling ancient tales of their formation. The region is also home to the remarkable ghaf tree and many interesting species of birds and reptiles.

A Shell-Abration of Conservation!
Oman is home to nesting sites for five of the seven sea turtle species, which means that turtle conservation in the Sultanate is an important part of protecting these endangered species.
The Oman in Focus team had the great privilege of filming a Turtle Commandos expedition in 2021, and now again in 2024. It is amazing to see how the initiative has grown from strength to strength and continues to make an impact wherever they reach out.
